If you don’t mind humiliating yourself for a few bucks and a free trip to Vegas, check out Claiborne’s contest on styledenial.com. To “purge your fashion sins,” you’re supposed to take a photo of yourself in your “worst outfit” and send it to the site. Registration closes on May 14, and voting starts May 16. If you are voted “the most fashion challenged man in the country,” you’ll win $1000 bucks towards a new Claiborne wardrobe, plus a trip to Vegas where you and three friends can show off your new look.
I looked at the gallery of entrants, and many of them were wearing costumes, which seems to not be what the contest asked for. Aside from that, most of the guys looked, quite frankly, just like the millions of guys who come to Vegas each year. I’m not saying that to be clever or cruel; it’s just that most of them are wearing t-shirts and shorts, which are de rigeur on the Strip right now. So if you want to fit in, you might want to hold on to the one large until after you get back from Vegas. And please, please do not spend it on one of those famously ugly sweaters they sell in casinos, or a blazer like this one, even though that piece of haute couture will set you back one one, but five thousand dollars. The alligator jacket is an equally poor fashion decision, but I can only guess what it’ll cost you.
