A movie about the Ultimate Fighting Championship would be cool, but apparently some people don’t think so.
From the Boston Herald:
MARK WAHLBERG is in negotiations to star in a flick about the Las Vegas-based Ultimate Fighting Championship, the Las Vegas Review Journal reports. According to the film’s producers, the Dorchester homeboy could star in the action flick that is being produced by Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta, the owners of the UFC as well as the Station Casino. Sounds like a awards-season contender, no?
Actually, it might be a good movie. The UFC is, on average, much more competitive than most boxing we see today, and mixed martial arts has a growing fan base.
